The trek to the Jiri to Everest base camp trek could also be considered as the purest and almost authentic trek we ever gonna experience in our whole life in this region, as it also follows the same route which is only pioneers in the 1950s they have almost used. Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek Detail Itinerary:
Day 01:Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
After you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu our airport representative will be there to welcome and greet you and give you brief information on the further program. This day is for the refreshment and you can prepare your trekking goods.
Day 02:Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed for sightseeing tours to the world heritage of Boudhanath stupa, the biggest Buddhist Stupa architecture in the world. Then we will visit Kathmandu Durbar square showcasing living goddess Kumari Temple, Nautale Durbar, Kaal Bhairav and many more. The day tour ends with the incredible view of ‘Sajj Arati’ at Pashupatinath Temple, the holiest Hindu Temple on the bank of sacred Bagmati River.
Day 03:Drive to Jiri 1,900m. 6 – 7 hrs bus rides.
After early morning breakfast at the hotel, we will leave the capital behind on the 190km bus ride through the foothill of the Himalayas. This journey takes about 6 to 7hours to complete on the mountain roads. It is an exciting drive along a terraced field with panoramic views of eastern Himalayan such as Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Dorji Lakpa, Gauri Sankar and many others. Overnight stay at Jiri which stands at the altitude of 1900m.
Day 04:Trek to Shivalaya 1,770m. 5 hrs.
Today we will be trekking tp Shivalaya after breakfast. The trek begins at the needs of the paved road in Jiri, beyond the bus stop. The trek is a short hike through deep forests following the narrow, stone-paved track that leads to Shivalaya. A suspension bridge leads across the Khimti Khola to Shivalaya. Shivalaya is a small bazaar that stands at the altitude of 1770m above sea level. Overnight stay at Shivalaya.
Day 05:Trek to Bhandar (Chyangma) 2,195m. 5 hrs.
Today after breakfast we will begin our trek with a river crossing on a suspension bridge before passing different tea houses that offer the chance to interact with locals. Along the way, you will see many prayer flags and decorated wells that indicate your entry into a region of Tibetan Culture. After walking for about 5hours from Shivalaya we will reach Bandar. Overnight stay at Bhandar which stands at the altitude of 2195m above the sea level.
Day 06:Trek to Sete 2,575m. 6 – 7 hrs.
After breakfast at Bandar, we will trek to Bhandar. From the village of Bhandar, we will trek to see through some deep forests, villages. We will walk ascend and descend through steep trails. There is a trail junction from Chimbu where we take a right-hand fork to Sete. Overnight stay at Sete which has an elevation of 2575m above the sea level.
Day 07:Trek to Junbesi 2,675m. via Lamjura-la 3,530m. 6 – 7 hrs.
After breakfast, we will trek to the top of the 3530m Lamjura-La from Junbesi. We will trek through a moist mountain forest with huge, gnarled, moss-covered magnolia, rhododendron, maple and birch trees. On this route, there are no villages. On this day, we will provide a delightful glimpse of colorful birds. Junbesi is one of the vantage points for the majestic view with Splendid Sherpa village amidst beautiful surroundings. Overnight stay at Junbesi which stands at the altitude of 2675m.
Day 08: Trek to Nunthala (Manidingma) 2,190m. 6 – 7 hrs.
Today we will cross the Junbes Khola on the wooden bridge at 2610m. At Khurtang, we will have the first view of Everest, Mera Peak, Thamserku where the closer mountains will appear much taller than Everest at first. Then we will cross the suspension bridge of Ringmo Khola and reach Ringmo which will offer the extraordinary examples of Tibetan architecture. Then we will descend through the dense forest before reaching Nunthala. Overnight stay at Nunthala which stands at the altitude of 2190m.
Day 09:Trek to Bupsa Danda 2,250m. 5 – 6 hrs.
After breakfast at Nunthala, we will continue the descent to Dudh Koshi(Milk River)by crossing a large suspension bridge then trail ascends through terraced fields. From here we will turn north and head ascent up the valley of Bupsa Danda. Overnight stay at Buspa Danda which stands at the altitude of 2250m above the sea level.
Day 10:Trek to Surke 2,295m. 5 – 6 hrs.
Today we will be trekking for 5 to 6 hours to reach Surke from Bupsa Danda. We will be trekking through a dense forest filled with oak and pine trees where you can find various species of monkeys and birds. This trial will take us through Paiya village before reaching Surke. Overnight stay at Surke which stands at the altitude of 2295m above sea level.
Day 11:Trek to Phakding 2,650m. 5 – 6 hrs.
After breakfast at Surke, we will be trekking towards Phakding following the trail of Dudh Koshi River. On the way we will pass through several Buddhist monuments, Chortens and prayer flags along the way. We will also walk through the scattered village of Chaurikharka. After walking for 5 to 6 hours from Surke we will reach Phakding. Overnight stay at Surke which stand at the altitude of 2650m
Day 12:Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440m. approx. 5 – 6 hrs.
After breakfast at Phakding, we will trek uphill to Namche Bazaar. We will trek through beautiful landscapes. We will come across several suspension bridges which allow us to connect from one mountain to another across rivers and gorges. After the difficult trek for 5 hours, we will be rewarded by the majestic beauty of Namche Bazaar and the views of Himalayan peak form here. This is the homeland of famous climbing tribs ‘Sherpa’. They are renowned in the world for their hard work. In this region, Sherpa have been benefited from tourism. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar which stands at the altitude of 3440m above the sea level.
Day 13:Rest Day at Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar is the famous vantage point of the Khumbu region which offers spectacular views of a mysterious mountain marketplace. Today we will be staying at Namche Bazaar for the acclimatization to overcome the possible sickness. Similarly, we will visit the Sherpa Museum to learn more about the culture, history, and lifestyle of Sherpa. From Namche Bazaar, you can also capture the breathtaking panoramas of Everest, Kantega, AmaDablam and others at the vantage point around the Syangboche Airport around Everest View Hotel. The sunrise and sunset at this point are fabulous. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
Day 14:Trek to Thyangboche 3,867m. approx 5 hours.
Today, we took a different route from the regular Everest Base Camp trekking route while walking to Thyangboche. The route toward Thyangboche is typically the peaceful trail that offers the beautiful forest. Thyangboche is one of the ancient settlements in the Everest region. Thyangboche village is one of the vantage points for the incredible view of mountains. Thyangboche stands at an altitude of 3867m above sea level. Overnight stay at Thyangboche.
Day 15: Trek to Dingboche 4,358m. approx: 5 – 6 hours.
After early breakfast at Thyangboche, we will be trekking to Dingboche. We will be trekking through the amazing forest up into the rocky high country. The day will trek you from 3867m to 4358m by walking for approximately 5 to 6 hours. From Thyangboche, we will begin with a forested descent, passing through small villages and crossing a couple of suspension bridges we will finally reach Dingboche. Overnight stay at Dingboche.
Day 16: Rest day for acclimatization.
Today, we will not be trekking further altitude. We will be staying in Dingboche for acclimatization because tomorrow, we will be climbing high altitude. Dingboche is the best rest village during the Everest Base Camp. we will have a short pleasant hike to the village of Khunde and Khumjung. These villages are the Sherpa villages, home of the ancient monastery. After spending some quality time in these villages we will return back to Namche Bazaar for overnight stay.
Day 17:Trek to Lobuche 4,928m. approx: 5 hours.
After breakfast at Dingboche, we will trek through the windswept pastures and past the lonely huts of yak herders. The route offers the majestic views of Lhotse and Ama Dablam and many others. The final destination of today is Lobuche which is a small village nestled in the shadow of the mountain which shares its name. Overnight stay at Lobuche which stands at the altitude of 4928m above sea level.
Day 18:Trek to Gorak Shep 5,170m. continue to Everest BC 5,357m.
Today is the day we’ve been trekking all these days, we will finally reach Everest Base Camp. Our trek begins with a strike out on a trail leading to Gorak Shep. From Gorak Shep, we will be trekking along the Khumbu glacier moraine and its associated Khumbu Icefall. Then we will reach the best part of the day, Everest Base Camp. Here you will get a spectacular view of the world’s highest Mountain of the world, Mount Everest, with an incredible atmosphere. After spending quality time in Base Camp we will return back to Gorak Shep for the overnight stay.
Day 19: Hike to Kalapathar 5,555m. continue to Pheriche 4,288m 5 hrs.
We have already been in Everest Base Camp but the trek isn’t over yet. Today we will get the best view of the mountains on the vantage point of Kala Patthar. Early morning we will hike to this popular point for the picturesque view of sunrise over Mount Everest, Mt Lhotse, Mt Makalu, Mt Cho Oyu, and others. After spending some quality time in Kala Patthar we will descend for Pheriche which stands at 4288m for overnight stay.
Day 20:Trek to Namche approx. 6-7 hrs.
Today after breakfast we will walk from Pheriche, mostly downhill on the main busy trail with a few steep climbs. We will trek through the beautiful hillside, blanketed by Juniper and Rhododendron trees. We will trek along the bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. You can also get the opportunity to see wild animals like mountain goats, snow leopards, etc. after walking downhill up to 6 to 7 hours we will reach Namche Bazaar for overnight stay.
Day 21: Trek to Lukla 6 hrs walk.
Today after breakfast at Namche Bazaar we will be trekking to Lukla the starting point of our trek. The trail descends steeply downward so you need to walk carefully as your shaky leg continuously battles the rocky terrain. We will walk along the Dudh Koshi and cross many suspension bridges. After walking for about 6 hours we will reach Lukla for the overnight stay.
Day 22: Fly Lukla – Kathmandu.
Today we will take a morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu after our long and adventurous mountain trek. After reaching Kathmandu you will be transferred to the hotel. You can rest this day. You can also take a spa in the hotel for relaxation.
Day 23:Free day in Kathmandu at leisure.
On this day you can do anything you want, you can visit the places you have missed on the first day. Or you can visit the tourist hub, Thamel for shopping for your friends and family. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner for the succession of your trip to the base camp of the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest.
Day 24:Transfer to Airport for the International departure.
Today is the day you have to say goodbye to the Himalayas and Nepalese. Our representative will drop you at the Tribhuvan International Airport 3 hours earlier than your flight schedule.
