Mardi Himal Trek Detail Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)
Today we arrived at the Tribhuvan international airport located at Kathmandu then, went to our hotel. We were amazed by the welcome done by our hotel. Our bags were sent to the respective rooms by the staff of the hotel. Then we took rest for a few hours and we did sightseeing in the Kathmandu valley. We saw many world heritage sites like Pashupatinath temple, Swyambhunath, and Kathmandu durbar square too. These places are the identity of Nepal too. We also taste many Nepali foods here like Dhendo, Ghundruk, etc. Then we returned back to our hotel and packed our backpacks for tomorrow.
Day 02: Drive to Pokhara (827m/2,700ft): 6-7 hours
Today we woke up early in the morning and get ready for the journey to Pokhara from Kathmandu. Today we’re moving towards Pokhara by bus. On the way to Pokhara, we saw many hills and mountains. We did lunch at Malekhu where we got a chance to taste fish of the Malekhu river. The taste of that fish was amazing. Then we continue moving towards Pokhara. After the dive of around 6-7 hours, we reached Pokhara. Pokhara is a very beautiful city. In the evening we went to the lakeside which was just like heaven due to lights and music played in the hotel and restaurant. Then we returned back to our hotel at Pokhara near the lakeside.
Day 03: Drive to Phedi and trek to Deurali (2100m/6,720ft): 30 minutes drive, 4-5 hours trek
Today early morning we drive towards Phedi from Pokhara after having lite breakfast at our hotel. It took us around half an hour to reach Phedi from Pokhara by bus. Then we start to trek towards Deurali which was at the height of 2100 m above the sea level. On the way to Deurali, we saw many forests and other flora and fauna. It took us nearly 4-5 hours to reach Deurali from Phedi. On the way to Deurali, we saw many high hills and snowy mountains. We got a chance to see the national flower of Nepal which is the rhododendron. We stayed overnight at Deurali.
Day 04: Deurali to forest camp (2,520m/8064ft): 6-7 hours
We woke up early morning with the hilarious view of sunrise and having tasty breakfast. Then we start moving towards forest camp from Deurali. It took us around 6-7 hours to reach forest camp from Deurali. Forest camp was art the height of 2520 m above the sea level. On the way to the forest camp, we saw many mountains and hills. We also saw many green forests with red flowers (rhododendron). The view of the forest and the snowy mountains seen on the way to forest camp was stunning and interesting.
Day 05: Forest Camp to low camp (2970m/9504ft): 5-6 hours
Today we woke up early morning and had our breakfast then we move towards low camp from forest camp. It took us 5-6 hours to reach the low camp from forest camp. On the way to low camp, we saw a stunning view of Mardi Himal. From here the view was not proper but we got very excited to see it clearly. The low camp was at the height of 2970 m above the sea level. we stayed overnight here by enjoying the view of nature and Natural resources.
Day 06: Low camp to high camp (3540m/11,328ft): 3-4 hours
Today was the day 06 of our trek. We woke up early morning and move towards High camp from Low camp. After 3-4 hours of hiking, we reached high camp from low camp. High camp was at the height of 3540 m above sea level. From high camp, we saw beautiful snowy Mardi Himal but not so much clearer. We saw many high hills and forests too.
Day 07: High camp to upper viewpoint (4250m/13600ft), return back to high camp: 2-3 hours
Today was the day to reach our final destination which was the upper viewpoint. So with full energy and dedication, we move towards the upper viewpoint from High camp. The upper viewpoint was at the height of 4250 m above sea level. From the upper viewpoint, we saw beautiful snowy Mardi Himal. We also got a chance to play with snow there. We enjoyed throwing a snowball with each other. Mardi Himal was golden in colour due to sun rays in the early morning. We reached the upper viewpoint after 2-3 hours hike from High camp. Then we returned back to the high point after taking pictures of Mardi Himal and ourselves too.
Day 08: High camp to Sidhing Village (1700m/5440ft): 6-7 hours
Today we woke up early morning and move towards Sidhing village from High camp. After 6-7 hours of hiking, we reached there. Sidhing village was at the height of 1700 m above the sea level. On the way, we saw many forests and hills. The rivers seen on the way were amazing. And the villages and villagers were so good. Their culture and tradition were so interesting. Their hospitality behaviour was also amazing we got the chance to learn many things from them.
Day 09: Trek to Lumre, drive to Pokhara and fly to Kathmandu: 2-3 hours trek, 2 hours drive and 25 minutes flight
Today we trek to Lumre from Siding village. After 2-3 hours trek, we reached Lumre from Sidhing village then we drive back to Pokhara. After 2 hours of continuous drive, we reached Pokhara. We took rest for a few hours in the hotel and we moved to the airport and take a flight to Kathmandu. After 25 minutes of the flight, we reached Kathmandu. We did last-minute shopping in Kathmandu valley fro our family and friends. we want to make this trek memorable so we did singing and dancing in the evening at the hotel.
Day 10: Final departure
Today was the final departure day of our trek so we packed our backpack and became ready for departure from our hotel. We got warm greetings and love from the hotel staff. This trek was amazing and will be remembered by us forever.
